There’s no doubt the effort that goes into book writing is much. Sometimes one needs to research for months. Having a bestselling book is an author’s dream. Not only does it put money in your pocket, but it also helps you to keep doing what you love. Yes, some authors will say that they write to pass across a message, and they mind making nothing from their works so long it gets to a wider audience. But the fact is that it takes time to get a book ready, and time equates to money. Winning an award doesn’t only mean that you’ve been recognized. It means you are now officially in the books of the company awarding you. And for sure, any author would love to be there. There are notable books that have made history, so let’s look at some of them:
1. Hamnet Awards: Women's Prize for Fiction, National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. Hamnet was published in 2020. There’s no doubt it’ll reach millions of readers. Born in 1972, Maggie O’farrell would say she’s figured out her life. A writer, who’s written over ten books, one would say she knows what she’s doing. 2. A Thousand Acres Awards: Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction, Ambassador Book Award for Fiction. Jane Smiley is an American novelist. Homegoing Awards: PEN/Hemingway Award, Literary Fiction and Classics, American Book Award. Yaa Gyasi is a bestselling author. Her debut novel Homegoing published by penguin random house was a bestseller, and it has since received so much press. 5. The Vegetarian Awards: international booker prize, Yi Sang Literary Prize. Han Kang is a South Korean writer. Her Novel, the vegetarian, has sold lots of copies, making her a bestselling author. Han Kang’s popular books give her hope that people are beginning to embrace South Korean literature. |
